1. Introduction
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. Empress Monitoring ASM Limited is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings and relationships.
Our annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold at which a statement is required under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We nonetheless publish this statement voluntarily, to set out the steps we take to ensure that slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or supply chain.
2. Our Business and Supply Chain
Empress Monitoring ASM Limited provides remote CCTV monitoring, security system installation and maintenance, and manned guarding services to commercial and residential clients across the United Kingdom. Our supply chain is relatively small and consists mainly of equipment suppliers, alarm receiving centre services, and a limited number of vetted subcontractors who support installation and guarding work.
3. Our Policies
We operate within a framework that supports ethical employment and the prevention of exploitation, including our recruitment, whistleblowing and health and safety practices. All workers are entitled to at least the National Minimum or National Living Wage, and we do not tolerate forced, bonded or involuntary labour of any kind.
4. Due Diligence
To reduce the risk of modern slavery within our operations, we:
- Verify the right to work in the UK for all personnel we engage.
- Require security screening of staff and subcontractors in line with recognised industry vetting standards.
- Engage subcontractors on the basis that they operate lawfully and treat their own workers fairly.
- Favour established, reputable equipment suppliers.
- Pay our people and suppliers promptly and transparently.
5. Our Ongoing Commitment
We keep our practices under review as part of our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and will update this statement as our business develops. Any concerns about modern slavery connected to our business can be raised in confidence with our management team at hello@empressasm.uk.
This statement is made voluntarily in the spirit of Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and has been approved by the Directors of Empress Monitoring ASM Limited.
